So long a letter to my unborn daughter

Dear Daughter, I look forward to the day I'd welcome you into the world and give you all the love I've stored up for years. The thought of your eyes adjusting to the lights and sounds of life thrill me endlessly. My lips curve into a smile as I imagine your fingers curling around my forefinger, while you chortle with laughter.

Sweetheart, I can't wait to teach you about the world and life. With bated breath, I look forward to your first world and your curiosity about life.
Life is beautiful, fun, pain and what else you make of it. In life, you'd find people who have got everything you wish you had, yet they wish they had something that's someone else's.
If you think you're wealthy, beautiful, kind, mean, playful, spiritual; name it, you'd definitely find someone who's more or less of all that.

My precious gem, I promise to give you the best I can, but I can't guarantee that I'd shield you from the hard-knocks of life. Truth is, life is what you make of it. I'd give you a great platform, but you'd be the sole performer, Ballerina. We're all unique beings. Your height, weight, color, birth place, environment, etc, are part of the fabric that make you 'You'. Those good or horrible experiences; the promotions, successes, fame, wealth, lack, abuse, failure and heartache are indeed things people would rather choose which to go through; but staying positive irrespective of what they go through is what makes them stronger and better people.

I lay on my bed last night thinking of all I've been through. I've had happy, crazy, heartbreaking and really depressing moments. I've had moments where I just want to pack up everything and check into a resort for years, on end. There have been days I can't just wait to wake up to the beautiful sound of traffic or bird chirps; depending on what part of the world I wake up in. Some days, the smiles are as bright as sun rays, other days, they are as tiny as a little star.

No matter what kind of day it is though, we must choose to make our days and lives what we want it to be. It's so tempting to play dead and let life pass you by; but why act like a wallflower when you're meant to blossom like the rose you are?
No matter what you'd go through, someone, somewhere in the world would gladly trade a prized possession for the kind of life you've got. Always stay strong, positive and full of hope.

To live your best life:

Be thankful for all you have. Gratitude lessens the negatives of life and makes you a more lovable person.

Always make an effort to do something positive each day. It could be helping a kid across traffic or offering a smile to even the grumpiest person you've ever seen. Your positive action has a way of coming back to you; sometimes, in a better and bigger way.

Make 'Me' time a priority. When you make out time to love and pamper yourself, you'd be well-nourished enough to love others.

Live like this is the only time you've got left. Laugh hard; Love truly and deeply; Show genuine affection for every one and all aspects of life; Share your time, resources, knowledge and positive attitude like it's the only chance you've got. I look forward to sharing these special moments of  practice with you, as you join hands with Mummy to make the world a better and brighter place.

Have fun living your best life. XOXO
