Solution Media and Infotech Unveils the High Impact A2 Festival

Two day festival brings A-list African and Asian Artistes to the
Middle East

With A-List Artists performing at an A-themed Event in an A-class Venue, on an A Platform, Solution Media and Infotech is set to storm Dubai with the High Impact A2 Festival.  The 2-day star studded event is scheduled to take place on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th December, 2013, at Meydan Racecourse, Dubai.

The High Impact A2 Festival, from the High Impact series is geared towards creating a fusion of the African and Asian cultures, celebrated in Oriental splendor, typical of the UAE, especially, the cosmopolitan Dubai.  The festival will feature live performances of A-list artistes from the Asian and African continents. It would also officially launch the use of a circular stage in the UAE. With this stage, the audience would have a better view and access to the stage area and the performing artistes.
Speaking at a brief about the festival and its significance, the Executive Producer of the festival, Prince Adeyanju Lipede, had this to say: ‘Africa is the future of the world; Asia is the present choice. Without the present, there’s no future. We’re bringing the future and the present to the world’s tourism destination of choice - Dubai’.

Thursday 26th December, 2013 - Africa:
Headlined by P-Square, other world class stars performing live on one stage include Mr. Vegas, Redsan, Fally Ipupa and Mafikizolo. To join this star studded cast is ‘The Lady with the Golden Voice’: Lira.
P-Square, Mr. Vegas, Lira and Mafikizolo will be performing for the first time in the UAE at the festival.
The P-Square duo, internationally-acclaimed musicians topping the music charts in Africa rose to fame in 2006 and over time earned an array of awards in their portfolio.  These include the 2008- (MTV Music Awards) Best Group, 2009- (MTV Music Awards) Best Group and a nomination for the 2013 MTV EMA- ‘Best African Act’ Category.
They have performed alongside other international artistes like Rick Ross, Akon, Sean Paul, Ginuwine, among others and are set to give an unprecedented performance at the festival.
To add spice to the lineup is Mr. Vegas; a New York based Jamaican Dancehall Star who found fame in 1998 with hits such as "Yu Sure", "Jack It Up", and "Latest News”. He returned from a 2008 retirement in 2012 with the album ‘Sweet Jamaica’, which was ranked ‘Top 50 2012 Albums’ by Google Music.
 "Sweet Jamaica" was selected for Song of the Year, and "Bruk it Down" (which has over 10 million YouTube views, with several interesting variations) for Video of the Year, in 2013; at the IRAWMA (International Reggae and World Music Awards) celebration. He was featured in Beyoncé's ‘Standing in the Sun’ lead single.
Still in the Dancehall trend, the East African ‘King of Dancehall’, Redsan, joins this star-studded team with his electrifying performance, which has earned him accolades in Africa, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, where he has toured extensively.
Currently one of Africa’s most popular band, and on the nomination list for two international awards- 2013 MTV EMA- ‘Best African Act’ Category and the 2013 MOBO Awards – ‘Best African Act’ CategoryMafikizolo is an Afro-Pop group/band from South Africa designed to add some Southern African flavor to the fiesta. Their hit track 'Ndihamba Nawe' inspired by Sophie Mgcina's 1960's recording of 'Mmangwane' has been one of the most popular African songs of the 21st century. This rating is closely followed by 'Khona', another track from the duo, which topped the MTV Base Video and Top 10 Playlist charts for more than 4 weeks. Mafikizolo has enjoyed successes with albums like Sibongile, Kwela, Van Toeka af and Six Mabone.
Joining this stellar cast is the Rhumba maestro, Fally Ipupa, a Congolese-born, Paris-based recording artist whose genre of music serves the Francophone African countries, yet charms a majority of Anglophone Africans. A protégé of the legendary Koffi Olomide, his first impact in the music industry was with hits like 'Ko Ko Ko Ko' and 'Eternellement'. Fally, who also plays the guitar, has won a couple of awards, including the 2010 MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Video and Best Francophone Artist.
 ‘The Lady with the Golden Voice’, Lira, would serenade the audience with her velvety notes. A multi-platinum selling and an 8-time South African Music Award-winning Afro-Soul vocalist, Lira refers to her music as “a fusion of soul, funk, and elements of jazz and African.
She performed with Alicia Keys, Shakira, K’Naan and John Legend, at the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Concert in 2010 and has featured in major ad campaigns, with appearances on the cover of over twenty magazines worldwide.


Friday 27th December, 2013 – Asia:
 The 27th of December will have the audience gyrating to the upbeat performance of headliners- The Eraserheads. A Filipino rock band credited for spearheading a second wave of Manila band invasions and paving the way for a host of influential Philippine alternative rock bands, The Eraserheads is seen as one of the most influential bands in the history of original Filipino music.
The band released several singles and albums that reached number one and achieved critical and commercial success with their third album Cutterpillow, which attained platinum status several times.
In 1997, the band received the Viewer's Choice Award for Asia from the MTV Video Music Awards.
Parokya ni Edgar, a band of 5 from the Philippines, famous and most lauded for its original rock and novelty songs would also be performing.  Recipients of several awards amongst which is MFV Asia Awards as the favorite artist in the Philippines in 2004, Philippines OMG Awards "Band of the year" in 2012, a couple of their hit tracks have grossed tens of million views on YouTube.
The Eraserheads and Parokya ni Edgar will be performing on the same stage, same day for the first time ever in Dubai.
Bringing his own style of music to this team is the “PRINCE OF POP”, Erik Santos. A young balladeer known for his soulful voice, Erik made his way to stardom through the music scene with the title “PRINCE OF POP”.  His Platinum debut album and succeeding albums, sold-out concerts and a demand for corporate shows, accolades from Awit Awards, Star Awards and Aliw Awards, endorsements for a bank (Bank of the Philippine Island's Express Remit), theme songs for radio stations, and even movies earned him an unusual popularity. His first single, Pagbigyang Muli, remained number one of WRR’s hit chart for more than 20 weeks together with his other songs filling up the chart simultaneously.
Joining the lineup will be Jin Au-Yeung popularly known as Mc Jin.  A US-based Hong-Kong born hip-hop artist, songwriter, television host and actor, MC Jin first garnered national attention in 2002 when he astonished audiences on BET's 106 and Park Freestyle Fridays.
His performance also earned him a contract with Ruff Ryderz (Virgin/EMI), making him the first Asian MC to sign to a major record label. Jin’s debut album ‘The Rest is History’, launched his first Asia tour and gave him pioneering status as the first high profile Asian American artist to perform in Asia.
Dany Neville and Taranchyla will be spinning the wheels of steel at the event.
