Who do you think you are; bull in a china shop?

Without a set of rules and acceptable norms, society would be an intolerable and barbaric place to live in.
Every society has principles and guidelines that govern them. Some are found in the constitution, others are good old etiquette and manners.

Unfortunately, I see a lot of people act really crass nowadays. This is evident, not just in their personal lives, but in business relations too. This, I deduce, isn't because they are uneducated or want to be deliberate law breakers, but because they know little or nothing about proper etiquette.

Ever walked down a street and seen someone spitting or throwing trash out of a vehicle? What of the guys who blatantly pee in gutters and street corners? Remember the very loud passerby using his cell phone and screaming from the rooftops?Don't be so smug yet, if you think you aren't culpable of those. You're just as guilty when you break off an engagement and refuse to return the engagement ring. A keepsake, you say?

Or when you re-apply your make up right there in public! Last time I checked, there was somewhere called a washroom. And no one wants to know when you're flying a 'red flag', (probably just your partner; for obvious reasons; wink).Hold up guys; you aren't off the hook! We know you like to bond, have a few beers and joke around, but there's a thin line between admiring a beautiful lady and being downright crass and a bully.

What happened to being polite when answering the phone. If it weren't downright appalling, it would have been hilarious! Imagine how irritated you are when someone calls your number and is busy chatting away with someone else or in a very rude tone asks 'who's this?', even after you've politely introduced yourself. Unfortunately, this decadence has spread even to kids, hence the need to nip this menace in the bud ASAP. You don't have to be on your high-horse or be the Queen to act with decorum and finesse.

Etiquette isn't about being fake or a snob. It's just the light that guides your path in making society a habitable place for all inhabitants. Let's make an effort this weekend to make the environment a comfortable place for our neighbors(both physical and virtual).

Have a beautiful weekend.
